What is it?
The Tools for Life programme has been devised to enhance children’s physical, social and emotional development using class plans that incorporate the Characteristics of Effective Learning. With current stats showing that one in three children will experience a mental health issue during primary school, it is becoming more important than ever to encourage children to practice mindfulness at an early age to provide an early intervention of mental health issues.
Our YogaBugs’ unique sessions not only engage children physically, but provide early intervention to help boost mental wellbeing in a fun way through EYFS supported class plans.
What is involved?
Throughout weekly classes, Tools for Life engages children in physical activity through fun story based adventures, which can take them to high seas to play as pirates, or put them at the heart of their favourite books, such as The Gruffalo!
Our classes typically last one hour, working with two groups in half an hour sessions back-to-back, allowing your Nursery to include more children in the programme! A typical session involves a fun warm-up, one of our hundreds of story based adventures, before finishing with breathing and relaxation techniques to calm children.

What are the benefits?
“We have had YogaBugs for over a year now and I find it really useful, I have seen a difference in the children’s behaviour and emotional well-being. Children have become more confident and physically they are doing the movements so well! I find it easy to get in touch with YogaBugs and find Simon great at communicating with me. The parents tell me how the children go home and show them the moves they have learnt and they are very, very impressed with what the children are doing.
We had YogaBugs in our pre-school for the past 3 years now. The results for the children speak for themselves when you see the great improvements made with their physical literacy, handwriting skills and concentration, they love it!
We had the YogaBugs programme in our Nurture group which was a great success. The programme helped improve the children's social and emotional needs
