Six Week Intensive Coaching Plan

Monday

Get ready for a day dedicated to owning the ball and dominating defenders. Players will develop sharp footwork, master essential 1v1 moves, and learn when to take on opponents with confidence and purpose.

The day will kick off with high-energy ball mastery drills to build close control and rhythm. Players will then work through key dribbling techniques—scissors, feints, stepovers, and more—focusing on clean execution and explosive movement. A short video analysis session will break down world-class dribblers like Messi and Mbappé, highlighting how great players make great decisions.

In the afternoon, players will take on creative dribbling challenges, compete in small-sided, tight-space games, and push their skills in the Dribbling Gauntlet—a test of creativity, speed, and composure under pressure.

By the end of the day, every player will walk away with improved technique, increased confidence, and a fearless mindset for 1v1 situations.

Tuesday

This session will focus on teaching players how to keep the ball with intent, not just for control but to create chances and dominate the game.

Players will begin with technical rondos and positional warm-ups, sharpening their touch, awareness, and ability to play under pressure. Throughout the day, they will work on passing patterns, movement off the ball, and scanning to make smarter, faster decisions.

Small-group exercises and positional games will emphasize how to break lines, exploit space, and transition quickly from possession to attack. Players will also study short clips of teams like Manchester City, Barcelona, or Spain, analysing how elite players move the ball with intelligence and purpose.

In the afternoon, everything will come together in conditioned small-sided matches where teams are rewarded for build-up play and effective possession. The focus will shift from “just keeping it” to progressing with purpose—finding the right moment to penetrate and create.

By the end of the day, players will have a stronger understanding of why, when, and how to keep the ball, and how to turn possession into meaningful attacking opportunities.

Wednesday

This day will be all about developing the mindset, technique, and timing of a clinical goal scorer. Players will sharpen their ability to create and convert chances under pressure.

The morning will kick off with finishing mechanics—focused drills on body shape, striking technique, and timing the perfect shot. Players will learn how to finish from different angles and situations: first-time shots, volleys, breakaways, and tight spaces.

They’ll also work on movement off the ball—understanding how top finishers lose defenders, find space in the box, and anticipate service. A short video breakdown of elite strikers like Haaland, Kane, and Benzema will help players recognize the instincts that separate good attackers from great ones.

In the afternoon, players will take part in intensity-based shooting circuits, 2v1/3v2 scenarios, and match-play conditions that reward quick thinking and cold-blooded execution. Under pressure, they’ll be encouraged to stay composed, decisive, and ruthless.

By the end of the day, players will have improved their technical finishing, learned how to move like a true striker, and unlocked a more confident, goal-hungry mentality.

Thursday

This day will focus on turning players into fearless, disciplined, and intelligent defenders who take pride in shutting down attacks and protecting the team.

The session will begin with defensive footwork and positioning drills, helping players improve their stance, balance, and timing in 1v1 situations. Players will then learn key defensive principles—body shape, delay, contain, and tackle technique—through competitive scenarios and small-group instruction.

Next, the focus will shift to team defending: tracking runners, communication, pressing in units, and staying compact under pressure. Players will break down real-game clips of elite defenders like Virgil van Dijk, Ruben Dias, and Wendie Renard, analysing how great defenders read the game and stay one step ahead.

In the afternoon, players will apply their skills in 1v1 duels, overload defending, and organized backline simulations. They’ll be challenged to defend under pressure, recover quickly, and lead their teammates vocally and tactically.

By the end of the day, players will walk away more confident in defensive situations—ready to put their body on the line, read danger early, and ensure there’s no way through.

Friday

This day will challenge players to think, move, and play like true football tacticians, focusing on match intelligence, strategy, and decision-making.

The session will begin with a tactical briefing to introduce the day’s core theme: how to approach matchday with purpose and clarity. Players will review team shapes, pressing triggers, and positional responsibilities in various formations (4-3-3, 3-5-2, etc.).

On the pitch, they will rotate through tactical scenario stations—working on build-up play, switching the point of attack, pressing as a unit, and responding to in-game situations like going a goal down or protecting a lead.

Midday, players will break for a short video analysis session, studying how top teams and players adapt mid-match. Discussions will focus on game awareness, communication, and in-game decision making.

The afternoon will feature conditioned match play with rotating tactical challenges—such as playing with limited touches, defensive overloads, or high-press scenarios—designed to test and stretch players’ ability to apply their knowledge in real time.

By the end of the day, players will be more confident not just in how to play, but in why and when to make tactical choices. They’ll leave better prepared to influence games, lead teammates, and execute a game plan under pressure.
