What is it?

The Active School’s Programme is a curriculum PE package that includes lunch and after school clubs.

A range of sports and activities will be taught to assist children in meeting the PE curriculum standards. This will include competitive team and individual sports, activities to improve throwing & catching, agility, balance, hand-eye coordination, dance & gymnastics.

These sports are delivered to Year 1 – 6 across 36 weeks, each year group will take part in one hour of PE each week and will have access to lunch and after schools clubs to keep them active.

The after school clubs help you self-fund the programme as we gift you all the income from the parent paid clubs. Your school can raise up to £11K throughout the year!

What is involved?

Running across at least 3 afternoons (dependant on size of school) we deliver a hour long lunch club, followed by 2 hours of PE and an after school club, totalling 12 hours a week of physical activities.

The lunch clubs can be delivered on the playground supporting the school with structured play and engaging children in activities. Or we can work with targeted groups of children to support with behaviour, emotional needs, confidence or physical ability.

The Active School’s Programme also includes:

A Bugs Group Specialist coach delivering 6 hours of quality PE each week (1 hour per year group – split 3 afternoons)

A Bugs Group Specialist coach delivering at least 3 lunch clubs (on the same days as the PE)

A Bugs Group Specialist coach delivering at least 3 after school clubs (on the same days as the PE)
